Vanderbilt Lakeside Room Guesthouse

We booked the Vanderbilt Lakeside for our Rehearsal Dinner (our wedding took place in in August 2022) and as lodging for some of our family. We initially booked the lodging a year out from the wedding, and then decided about two months before the wedding to add a rehearsal Dinner there. The site is beautiful and idyllic while still being in the town in Philmont, making it convenient for our guests. The Vanderbilt team was communicative and accommodating of our requests for both the event and the lodging. We requested that the pool table be available and they made it happen, even with a seated dinner for 75 guests. The rooms are spacious and well kept and our family was extremely comfortable during their stay. The dinner was incredible, with thoughtful planning and absolutely delicious food. The guests were raving about it for days! The service was also impeccable. I would highly recommend the Vanderbilt Lakeside for any event: wedding, Rehearsal Dinner, family reunion, whatever life event you are celebrating. Hopefully we will have another opportunity to celebrate with the Vanderbilt Lakeside again!

My husband and I recently got married in Ghent and we held our other wedding weekend events (rehearsal dinner, welcome drinks, and Sunday brunch) at the Vanderbilt Lakeside; we also stayed at the inn with our bridal party and significant others. It was a magical weekend in every way. The decor is gorgeous, just the right mix of trendy, eclectic, and artistic to have gorgeous, Instagram/magazine worthy views every way you turn. The guest rooms are extremely clean and with thoughtful amenities, and are light filled during the day with incredibly comfortable beds and quiet at night. What made our weekend so special was the incredible power couple in Henrietta and Matt planning each event with us. The rehearsal dinner was absolutely magical drinks by the gorgeous downstairs bar and chic patio followed by a long farm table with bud vases and perfect upstate summer evening vibes, incredible food from Matt who is a true culinary talent, a gorgeous signature cocktail and every detail coordinated seamlessly by Henrietta. As rehearsal dinner transitioned into welcome drinks, the patio and lawn lit up by bistro lights and a bonfire with a full moon lighting up the lake, guests came up to us and exclaimed about how the evening had the perfect feel of a casual garden party but with everything executed flawlessly and professionally. We are so incredibly lucky to have come across this absolute gem of a venue for our wedding weekend and can't recommend it highly enough for any event. We'll be basking in the glow of this wonderful inn and team for years to come.

I would like to highlight the incredibly flexible owners: Henrietta and Matthew gave us a wide variety of options for our reception both in terms of events and food. It was almost like we have a wedding consultant. The food prepared by Matthew was just out of this world. All of our 16 guests loved the food. The diversity, freshness and flavor was something we had not experienced before. The drinks and bartender was amazing as well. All our guests were very pleased at the service we received. Overall, we were extremely happy in hosting our wedding reception at Vanderbilt. Henrietta and Matthew will work with you to create a beautiful experience.
