Confident of TA reviews, booked for lunch. Prices just a little out of my league. Very kind staff, very accurate food and more abundant portions than I expected, given the price (which is not particularly high, but only out of my reach). It was not possible to have a taste of appetizers, then taken one by the head and tasted by others. No loose wine, bottle ribs, then folded on the beer. Homemade dumplings, soft meat, beautiful and good desserts. Clean premises, have a large living room. A piece of furniture in my opinion is to put on the walls objects that little have to do with the rest of the environment, like an African mask of a giraffe (always my opinion). For 5 antiaastists, 2 first, 2 seconds, 4 desserts, 4 beers and water paid 148€
Had dinner here with friends and family, after being recommended to go here by an acquaintance. Service was very slow, they brought us an antipasto with anchovies and butter and no bread, maybe I was supposed to spread the butter on my hand. Then the...pasta we ordered was so overcooked that it was actually mushy and boiled to the point that it was disintegrating. They also brought my fiancée a different dish than what she ordered and she had to wait another 15 minutes for them to make the actual one. At the end of it, after we gave them our feedback, they were extremely arrogant and laughed in our faces. I don't mind food that has been cooked wrong, but I do mind this attitude and because of this I recommend you don't go here.
I ordered the Castelmagno cheese dumplings. After two tastings, I had no doubts: they were dumplings with cream in which Castelmagno was not perceivable. The two people who were with me tasted them and said the same thing. I told the waitress and asked her...to add a good dose of grated Castelmagno. She brought my plate back to the kitchen. Shortly thereafter she came back saying that the cook apologized, that he had redone the dish and that now the dumplings had a strong taste of Castelmagno cheese. I tasted them again. Castemagno continued to be not perceivable to taste, but pepper had been added. I did not insist and I ate them. The chief waiter asked me if I liked the dish after the change. I told her that Castemagno was still not perceivable to taste and that pepper had been added. She told me that they cook the dumplings by combining the cream with a slightly seasoned Castelmagno that has a very light taste. This is to make sure that the flavor of the dish can suit everyone. I do not discuss the choice of the chef to use Castelmagno that is not seasoned, but, if a customer points out that its taste is almost inconsistent and asks to add grated Castelmagno, he can not be served the same dish with an addition of pepper ! I must add that we had asked for three glasses of Piedmontese red wine. The chief waiter told us that she had to see which wine could serve us at the glass. She brought us a bottle of Valpolicella red wine from Verona in the Veneto Region and she opened it. A person among us tasted the wine, he said it was OK and we all drank it. Even in this case, I do not discuss the goodness of the wine they brought us, but if we ask for Piedmontese red wine, they should not bring a bottle of Valpolicella red wine from Verona in Veneto Region. The wine list had a very wide selection of Piedmont red wines; it's hard for me to believe that there was not even one bottle left. Finally, the people who were with me ordered pork cheek with vegetables. When they brought it, there were no vegetables on their plate, but mashed potatoes. They made me taste a piece of meat: it seemed boiled meat and not pork cheek. Of the first three statements (Castelmagno, Valpolicella, mashed potatoes) I'm sure, the last one (the pork cheek) is my personal evaluation after a taste. I give two out of five stars just because the taste of local cheeses was not bad. It is an inn that I do not recommend.
The food was really nice, BUT, the service was extremely slow. I underline that I am writing this for future customers as well as for the restaurant. We were a large group of people (12 people) so I would have understood, the food was the only thing that was slow...More , to finally bring us wine after 3 reminders, clearly we would have taken 1, 2 or 10 more. We probably would have ordered deserts and coffee too. But no, we asked for food and a bottle of wine, waited the age and left as soon as we could. deity,
