We had been trekking all morning at the Park and we really wanted to have lunch. It was Sunday and there was very little movement at Vinhais. We selected Vasco de Gama, a most improbable place. You enter in a tiny building through the kitchen. You are welcome by the lady who owns the place (it is a family restaurant) who lets you know what she has for lunch. You go up the stairs and you have a cosy room with a great view to the park. And then we ate the best posta mirandesa for a long time, with great local wine. To start we had the traditional alheira de mirandela. The service was great and the hospitality great..

Wonderful place for typical Portuguese kitchen. Very pleasant hosts that made our lunch even enjoyable. All recommendations!
