When we went to family, we were delighted. A quality restaurant with impeccable service. Dinner and breakfast in a friendly atmosphere. We really recommend this warm place. Thank you.

This hotel and restaurant is a must do visit while in Burgundy. Although the southern Burgundy area is not as well known as the cote de nuits and de Beaune areas, it is truly worthwhile to spend a night at this hotel in Vire. 10...out of 10 in service, comfort, style and surroundings, the hotel has 9 rooms all with a different style from romantic country to modern but all with good taste. They offer bikes to cruise around the village and surrounding vineyards, a spa and of course the restaurant. The chef is amazing! We ordered 1 of the menues which turned out to be 9 courses of the most delicious creations. And the Vire clesse wine is quite good. We were there with our 18 month old son. Although its not advertised as a family hotel, it was fully equipped for small children. They even have a small play area with books and pencils and puzzles for the little ones. In summary, I highly recommend this beautiful, charming, romantic and friendly hotel and restaurant.

My husband and I had dinner at this restaurant and stayed overnight in their small hotel. The village of Vire itself is beautiful, and the house (hotel and restaurant) nicely renovated and inviting. We were very disappointed in the dinner, however. We are frequent visitors...to Burgundy, and have tried a great many restaurants in the region. This place made us wonder both whether the French have lost their special touch when it comes to ingredients and cooking, and why they come to this restaurant at all (I think we were the only foreigners at dinner, which usually is a good sign, but not this time). The meal was edible, but totally average, completely uninspired, just blah. One gets the sense that the chef is on some sort of autopilot. Unlike our typical experiences in Burgundy, nothing was memorable about this meal.
