I received eight small cut pieces of dry meat with the limp tempura swimming in the plated Teriyaki sauce. the meal was disappointing. I should have known that this is a restaurant when I enter this dark, damp clutter place. there are boxes of dry food, water bottles and others that are oversaturated, as only a lazy, unattended owner would allow. my suggestion is that they do not waste their time or money in such a moderate (best) place.
I had three of the regular rolls. They were on the smaller side with a lot of rice and not a lot of filling. The amount of salmon in the Philadelphia roll was disappointing and the California roll barely had any filler i will not be back. Place was clean, staff was nice, sushi was vastly disappointing.
I finally decided to try this place. When I went in, it was dark. Only two people were visible--the chef and the hostess. The hostess didn't smile, gave off an unfriendly vibe, and curtly asked if I wanted my food to go. I wanted to dine in, so she offered me a seat at one of their tables. I noticed that there were supplies in a room where large parties are hosted, out there in the open where customers can see. When I sat down at the table, I noticed that the table wasn't clean. I checked to see if there was any dust on it. No dust, but it was a bit sticky.I was not in the mood for only sushi, so I found that they had udon. I asked for it, along with a plate of sushi. I was not pleased with the sushi, because 1. It was a small serving on a large white plate, which made the portion look small, and the sushi was blending into the plate. 2. I popped one in my mouth, and I could hardly taste the vinegar in the sushi rice, and the flavors did not complement each other. 3. The ingredients were cheap. When the hostess brought me my udon, there was a fork in there. When silverware is brought with the food, it should not be in the food! It should be presented covered with a napkin, or wrapped. I looked at my udon, and I was not impressed. I was even more unimpressed when I tried it. The soup was dashi based--no rice vinegar or soy sauce; only carrots and cabbage were in the soup with the udon, and the udon looked like it came from a vacuum pack that can be bought at an Asian store. No fish cake, no fried tofu, no long onion, no tempura crumbs. I have made better udon at HOME. The tempura that came with it was okay, but who cooks broccoli in tempura batter?Overall, my lunch was tasteless, bland, and unfulfilling. As someone who grew up on Asian cuisine, and experience in the food service business, I was not impressed with the overall service, and very disappointed. The people in the establishment need training in how to make a good impression on their customers, and to learn how to upsell their products. And finally, they need to remove their supplies from the sight of customers, and to wipe down their tables more often!I regret coming by, and I will not go back.
Tried a couple of sushi rolls, both were incredible. Great food, great staff very reasonable. I am looking forward to my next visit!!
Standard sushi restaurant. Good value considering it's so near the beach.
