El Rosal Authentic Mexican - Visalia

--- I want to share my recent experiences as a regular customer at this restaurant, where I dine approximately every two weeks. While I do enjoy the food, I’ve found the portion sizes to be lacking. I typically order pozole soup on weekends and a one-item combo during the week. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the large pozole, especially considering the price for just two pieces of meat. Additionally, the quality of the one-item combo suffers when the plate is excessively microwaved, causing the rice to become hard and the beans to be overheated as well, which is evident when the dish arrives at your table. I've also noticed a decline in service; the waitstaff often seem disengaged. It frequently takes a long time to get a drink order, and by the time that’s ready, I’m already prepared to place my food order, so I don’t need to wait for the menu. The experience can vary significantly depending on who your server is—some are more attentive than others. I've been visiting the Noble location for years, and it feels outdated as nothing has been remodeled, although they did put in new flooring during COVID. With the Mooney location now closed, it would be great to see an updated look for the booths and tables. --- I hope this captures the essence of your review!

I've been coming to El Rosal since I was a child and it has changed for the worst! Food quality has gone bad with high prices since around 2018-2020. Service has gone down hill since then too! They use to have such amazing servers and good time management with just amazing customer service attitude. Now the servers barely do anything and when they do it's not even bare minimum that a customer deserves. Very disappointed and just sad how things are at El rosal. In 2024 it's hard to say but I will not be coming here anymore after 22 years of being their customer.

There used to be 2 locations: one on Noble and the other on Mooney. I swore I'd never go back to the Noble location after spending 20 minutes trying to get a table. I felt I was being ignored and the only reason I could come up with is my race. I have no tolerance for racism. It took me a few years to return, as well as the fact their Mooney location closed. So, what do I think? The service has improved considerably. I was promptly seated and staff made sure my order was okay and my drink was refilled. And this is one of the few restaurants that serves birria tacos. And they were terrific. They were filled with carne asada and some type of white cheese. But there's something missing. Although efficient, no one seemed happy. It was very business like. In a town filled with Mexican restaurants, ambience is important.

Best chips and salsa in town! The service is always great and the food is delicious. Love the interior decorations too.

The food is fantastic and the service is friendly! We really enjoy their chips and salsa. The margaritas are crafted perfectly, making it difficult to stop at just one.
