We spent three hours here, walking the historic center, and experiencing a living, breathing middle class town. On our way back to our car, we saw a sign for the Trattoria 4 Stagioni, wandered under an arch, around a corner, and there it was. English is not spoken here, so our Italian had to suffice and it did: the server was an older man who forgave our grammatical errors by providing us with really good food: a plate of prosecco, cheese, good house wine, a pasta Bolognese, and a delicious pizza margherita. It was cheap, it was fun, we were the only non locals in the place at lunch (it's near the civic offices), and the coffee was good (bad coffee is a buzzkill for Mr. TwoInMaine). So if in Viterbo, visit and enjoy and bring your Italian app or dictionary.
This restaurant was near where we were staying. It is a bit out of the way from most of the areas traveled by visitors. As the weather was pleasant we ate outside and enjoyed a relaxed time. The service is good, the food enjoyable, and we were able to find a decent wine. If looking for bit of an out of the way place, but still close to the activity of Viterbo, we recommend the restaurant.
Meat not cooked well, needed to get the steaks recooked, it was raw. Ordered medium. Price to high compared to the quality.
