El Chispial - Vitoria-Gasteiz

Excellent, excellent, excellent that's all I can say about this place. First, upon entering, it's beautifully decorated. Service was very fast in getting us to our table and serving us overall. The menu was around $25 per person, a bit higher than your usual $16 or so, but the cooking quality is easily worth it. They started us with a light cucumber appetizer on the house super tasty with some crunched nuts and a light Modena vinegar dressing that was slightly acidic and citric... delightful. We then moved on to our 1st course, for which I ordered pisto. Nicely cooked veggies with a poached egg on top personally I like my egg a teensy bit more done, but it was perfectly fine for what the dish was. For our 2nd course we had chicken and sardines among the 4 of us I particularly enjoyed my sardines, really flavorful (just remember that with good kitchens, they won't remove the inner spine, so either you take it our yourself or, if you're like me, you just eat it all it's calcium, baby! . For dessert my friends got the browny and I got the plum pudding, which was amazing, among the better puddings I've had really more of a flan than anything. A couple of my friends had water and another friend and I shared a bottle of white wine, nicely paired with the meal and included in the menu. Coffee was also well prepared. Our waiter was great, super nice, informative, and attentive, just the right balance of all three qualities. I left the place very, very satisfied with the place, and on my next visit to the city of Gazteiz I will for sure com back to this restaurant. Absolutely worth your time and money!

Nice restaurant with a very attractive decoration in natural wood. The food, atmosphere and service are up to expectations. Very good wine on the menu of the day, and the food and bread included, also exquisite. Their menu of the day is highly recommended, for €24.50. We tried what was marked as their own product, plus the mushroom crepe. Quantity and quality, very good. Coffee is included in the menu of the day, a nice detail. Pleasant atmosphere, people from the nearby offices and City Hall workers. Very attentive and friendly service. We hope to repeat and try more products from the menu or the tasting menu, which doesn't look bad either...

Muy amables teníamos una celebración y una persona necesitaba menú especial y aparece del menú me lo han puesto sin problemas el resto excelente

El Chispial es un restaurante que siempre hemos valorado muy positivamente por su calidad, servicio y lo agradable que resulta el lugar y el gusto de ver a los cocineros trabajando tras la cristalera. Tiene un menú del día muy correcto y comer a la carta no es barato, pero se puede hacer de vez en cuando porque siempre mantienen la calidad. Esta vez sin embargo, hemos observado una falta de inteligencia comercial en un gesto novedoso, el de COBRAR 1.36 € por 1 servicio de agua (agua del grifo servida en una botella de cristal personalizada para el restaurante y que hasta ahora se ha ofrecido gratis, como procede y como ocurre en todos los demás restaurantes). ¿Cobrar por agua del grifo?????? Sorprendidos por dicha ocurrencia, preguntamos por ello a la camarera y nos explicó que era una idea de la gerencia y que ya había habido más protestas de clientes. Por eso estoy escribiendo esta reseña, para que permita reflexionar a la gerencia sobre este micro-robo y micro-abuso en un restaurante impecable hasta ahora. ¿En cuánto va a mejorar el beneficio del restaurante si empeora con este gesto cutre hacia el cliente su trayectoria?
