The service at this restaurant was acceptable and the coffee was also enjoyable. However, I must mention that the almond croissant I had was shockingly tasteless. It seemed like all the flavor had been magically stripped away, leaving only a bland pastry behind. I couldn't understand how such a disappointing experience could happen, especially in a city with a strong French influence. In the competition for the title of worst almond croissant in the world, this place would definitely be a contender. Van Houtte would have some stiff competition for sure!
Beautiful small coffee shop with beautiful sandwiches and cakes. Great for a light breakkie or lunch. Armchairs. Appropriate price. Friendly staff.
Quick coffee and bagels. Before work. Work breaks. Lunch. It's better than average fast food, and they have a lot more to offer than say a Starbucks... I was here early in the morning, and got what I needed, and got back to the hotel...with it all in my hands. The prep gal was a little slow, but she got it done, done well, and also handled several other customers while she was making my food.
Unfortunately on my recent trip to Montreal I spent some time working, and this cafe was perfect. There were outlets, lots of tables and wifi. The coffee is definitely drinkable and the staff did not care that I sat with my laptop for a few...hours.
