The venue was temporary and uncomfortably warm, relying on a small portable air conditioner to cool the area. The staff frequently forgot our drink orders, made errors with our food orders, and lacked expertise in the wine options. Although the food was delicious, we found it to be pricey compared to urban establishments. Overall, it was not a memorable dining experience.
Upon entering the restaurant, we received a warm welcome and were surrounded by a lovely atmosphere. However, we were disappointed with the limited options for entrees. The main course selections included fish, steak, duck, or risotto, and for dessert, there were two choices or a cheese plate. The prices were $65 for two courses and $85 for three courses. Olives could be added as a side for an extra fee. The wine list was extensive, featuring French Champagne priced at $600 and a selection of local wines.
We had made a reservation for the terrace, but we were not informed that the terrace was closed. Instead, we ended up eating in the tasting area.
I reserved a table for Christmas Eve lunch at this restaurant. I spoke with Arnica and had a wonderful conversation. When I arrived, I received 5-star service. The meal was served in the function room where the barrels are kept. My husband ordered the Jamon, steak, and mandarin sorbet with chocolate shortbread. I had oysters, duck, and yogurt panna cotta with pears. Everything was delicious. The set menu had four options in each category. We enjoyed a leisurely lunch over 2.5 hours. The staff was friendly, helpful, and informative during our mealtime conversations. We are excited to visit the new restaurant when it opens in 2022.
We visited Yarrawonga and thought that was a beautiful place for a birthday dinner. There were a number of questions: In a temporary place, stifling hot and with a mobile air conditioning was not big enough for the room staff always forget to bring us drinks. Two times for water and a wine they poured the wrong thing and then could not identify what they had poured (to admit there was a lack of personnel due to COVID, but we were the last table to come to lunch, it was also not fully booked) The staff was also not informed about the wine that is quite bad for a winery. While the food was nice, it is expensive for what it is. Costly compared to metropolitan regions, this is a bad value.
