Lava Lava Beach Club - WAIKOLOA

It's a lovely spot right on the beach to enjoy a cocktail and watch the sunset. They're currently renovating some areas, but there’s enough finished to be able to serve guests. Unfortunately, the drinks were quite weak, but the Mediterranean platter was excellent and reasonably priced. The service was friendly, and the remodel looks great. Live music started around 5 PM, creating a fantastic atmosphere. Be prepared to wait over 15 minutes for a table on the sand, depending on the night, as it’s very popular with people of all ages. Now reopened and better than ever! The service is excellent, and the bar area has been expanded. The bartenders are friendly and fun, always ready to mix up a drink. The atmosphere is fantastic!

HUGGO's MAI TAI has been on the menu since its inception in 1969 and boasts a secret blend of tropical juices, almond essence, and a mix of light and dark rums. If you're in the mood for something different, try the LAVA LAVA FLOW ON THE ROCKS, which features muddled strawberries, banana, coconut cream, and rum.

I love this place, it has the best sunsets you can see during dinner, and it is now expanded to accommodate more guests.

My friends had a table of 10 and they got kicked out after two hours. They spent a fortune and was happy with the food and music even it took awhile to be served. They where shocked that the server said that they had to leave. The manger came over and said that it?s policy and asked them to leave. It was a table of ten women between the ages of 62 and 75. Celebrating their youngest sisters birthday. When my friend told me about her experience I couldn?t help but keep apologizing to her for the embarrassment and poor treatment. They have live music and guests tend to spend more time. With a table of ten it takes more time. I would suggest that the restaurant put that into consideration when making these kinds of requirements. She and her family will never go back. Her new favorite discovery is the Thursday entertainment at the Royal Kona Resort. They have famous local musicians every Thursday at the Mai Tai Bar. So, she found a place where they can hangout, have drinks and listen to great Hawaiian music. I hope the Lava Lava Beach Club can figure out a way to manage this without embarrassing their customers.
