Seasoned corp spice fanatics sampled Shans’es phaal sauce as a side and were beading within seconds. A sheer delight. Egg options on top of jalfrezi by Shans also to be commended. The top waiter at Shans very attentive, poppadums and cobras laid out before we could get our bearings. Even the chef at Shans emerged to check on health status of ageing corps after producing his first ever phaal. Tried to ascertain recipe but a closely guarded secret. Excellent service including the discourse about the health benefits of probably the most nutritious meal ever ordered. Portion sizes ok, price in the upper quartile but still well worth it.
Probably worst curry I’ve had since 1990. 6 poppadoms, 2 pickle trays, one mixed starter, two curries and naan and rice £59. And absolutely no flavour. Man U
Big Kebab was needed after a stressful day. Rang for a Shan’s Special Kebab. (Chicken Tikka, donner meat, lamb tikka, salad Onions) Geeza said 20 minutes. Got there in 15. Fella was bagging it. Paid in 50p and 20p coins. Watched me count it out with a smile on his face. High fived me, and told me to enjoy. Got it home. Opened it up. Smile across my face as I try pick it up but there’s far too much meat for me naan. I enjoyed every bite. But I reach my limit. Fold the tin foil and leave. Suddenly I’ve got tomorrows dinner plans. Banging! 9.70 well spent. Chips too. Big Arnie Slogan!
Decided to eat in after originally planning a takeaway. Also decided to have a change from our usual place and wasn't disappointed, the food was great. The mixed balti was especially good, so good that my wife nicked half of it leaving me with her half of the pasanda which was absolutely fine but I preferred the balti. Shan was great and had a good chat with him. Looking forward to coming back
