There was a birthday happening on an alcoved part of the restaurant, but besides that, it wasn’t too busy. It has a real welcoming environment. You’re able to see into the kitchen, which has a real brick/stone oven for pizzas. Super neat.My waiter was covering me and the birthday party, and I don’t think I was a priority. I had a pretty nice wait between getting water——then she told me the specials and left, without asking if I was ready to order. So another wait. But then she came back and I ordered the spicy seafood pasta. It wasn’t spicy. It tasted like the seafood just had old bay sprinkled lightly on it. No hate to old bay, just wasn’t the spicy I was wanting. The seafood in it was cooked well though, the shrimp was like perfect, not tough. And the mussels and clams- yum. The entree filled me up so I wasn’t up for dessert, but their line up it said they were made in house made me wish I wasn’t that full.
The food at this restaurant was awful and the owner had a terrible attitude. I ordered Chicken Parmesan and the fresh pasta was undercooked. The breaded chicken was fried in old oil and the mozzarella was barely melted. My wife's veal dish was cold and hard to eat. We didn't even finish our meals and when we asked for the bill, we were charged $75. The owner didn't seem to care and even laughed at our complaint. This is definitely a struggling restaurant owner who is taking out their financial issues on the quality of their food. Be warned before dining here.
If you haven't visited this restaurant yet, you are truly missing out. It's fantastic! I tried it for the first time two months ago and have returned five more times since then. The food, particularly the salads and pizzas, is top-notch. The service is also excellent. You won't be disappointed!
I visited this restaurant for the first time after hearing great things about their pizza. I can confirm that the pizza was delicious, however, the other menu items were not as impressive. The chicken parmigiana with pasta was mediocre at best. Despite bringing our own wine, we were not offered wine glasses, only short water glasses. I would definitely return for the pizza, but not for any other dishes on the menu.
I 've been meaning to write a review about this place for a while. We moved into town and this is the first place we tried actually! The service is kind and inviting and I love the ambiance of this place on a warm summer night. They have a great outdoor setup and play nice music. When my fiancé and I go with a bottle of red wine (it 's byob! I almost feel like we 're Lady and the Tramp! We 've been here and ordered from here many times. It 's one of those places that 's spectacular to come with a date and share a pizza and salad, or one of their many entrees and pastas. In my pictures, we ordered 2 specials chicken vodka pizza and burrata with artichoke. Both were delicious and everything we 've gotten has been wonderful. BUT because we 've been here so many times and I only get 1 review, I 'm gonna leave you some of our all time favorites. Here we go 1. Pizza circolo if you are going to get 1 pizza from this place, I highly recommend this pizza. I think it 's listed as a margarita pie with some garlic? Your eyes might pass it on the menu first glance. But it is a delicious margarita that just kind of tastes like there 's something extra to it that 's makes it special. I 've had many Neapolitan style pizzas this is my favorite. The sauce is so good and it complements the doughy crust. I absolutely love how the base is a thin crust but the actual perimeter is a thick crust. I 'm a crust gal so I feel like I get best of both words with this combo. 2. Pear salad piled high with blue cheese, pears, cranberries and these candied nuts it 's super refreshing and filling. The spring leaves are always fresh and crisp. It pairs wonderfully with the pizza circolo. 3. The gnocchi ugh there is just something about the mozzarella (or maybe it 's burrata that they use. It 's so full of flavor. Honestly, I don 't think you could go wrong with anything with burrata on their menu. I notice a lot of reviews discussing the prices. It 's funny, when we moved from Jersey City (unfortunately the food in JC and NYC is so expensive anywhere you go , we thought we discovered the best hidden gem at Circolo. The ingredients tasted just so fresh and to us such a good value for the price, because we were used to paying way higher price for quality and fresh food like this! We even tried what 's supposed to be the best pizza in the tristate area in JC. We honestly like the pizza circolo way more. You can get a really cheap but reliable cheese pizza somewhere else. But here, it 's a different story of the type of pizza you get. The juiciness of the tomato sauce paired with fresh mozzarella. The way the garlic doesn 't overpower the whole pizza it just transforms the sauce into something better than before, almost like it 's unlocking the full potential of its flavor. I believe there 's basil too. Mmm ok I think I might get pizza now
