Sussex Hotel - WALKERVILLE

4 adults attended for lunch yesterday, meals were great value and tasted great. Meal prices were very reasonable and i would have no hesitation in either recommending or returning here. My only complaint was that the bar prices for alcohol seem to fluctuate, depending on who was serving.

My wife and I and two friends attended at this Hotel for Lunch. I ordered a Beef Schnitzel and the wife ordered the Lambs Fry. The first 5 bites of my schnitzel were gristle which I had to spit out. I left the rest even though it was a good size. My meal was served with chips which were just about cold. My wife's meal was just as poor. Lambs Fry that was served on a bed of roasted potatoes (shouldn't it be mashed potatoes?)...very tough and chewy and the potatoes were obviously left over from yesterday. Again the meal was cool and not left a lot to be desired. The only reason I gave this 2 stars was because of the friendliness of the serving staff.

Sadly we thought a nice dinner out, only to be disappointed with the very slow service, which spoilt our night.

Easy to get into carpark in this near city suburb. Warm vibes, pleasant staff. We both had crumbed flathead. It was crisp crumbs and not greasy. Excellent crispy chips as well. Seniors lunch is Tuesday if interested in this.

Came here with a group of 11 friends for an evening meal. Everyone commented on how good the meal was and the reasonableness of the prices. Staff were attentive, helpful with a good sense of humour. A most enjoyable evening.
