La Salsa Mexican Grill - Walnut Creek

We celebrated my daughter’s 21st birthday at Parada, and the experience exceeded our expectations in every way. Jaden, the extraordinary mixologist, truly impressed us. The trio of pisco and mezcal tastings was a huge hit with the whole family. The ceviche sampler, pulpitito, empanadas, fried plantains, yucca fries, and an unexpected birthday candle in the alfajores were all fantastic. We couldn't have picked a better venue for this special occasion. A special thank you to the anonymous patron who treated us to a round of delicious tequila. Cheers!

I visited Parada for the first time last night. The restaurant was quite noisy, and since we were a group of seven, we chose to sit on the patio. Even though we were located right next to Treat Blvd with plenty of loud cars passing by, it turned out to be a lovely setting for dinner. Our waiter was fantastic, and the food was very good. Initially, we were concerned about the lack of vegetarian options on the menu, especially since five people in our group are vegetarians, leading us to briefly consider leaving. However, we discovered that many of the dishes could be made without meat, and we all ended up enjoying our meals. I had an incredible mushroom side dish, and the empanadas looked delicious as well. I started with a Pisco Sour, which was an excellent choice. I definitely recommend giving this place a try; I think you'll be pleased!

The ambiance is great and the drinks are enjoyable. However, I've experienced better Peruvian cuisine elsewhere. The prices wouldn't be an issue if the food quality matched the cost. I think they have the potential to elevate their offerings!

The restaurant was decent overall. It was a bit noisy, which is typical for an open-concept space. We ordered two dishes, and honestly, frying mussels doesn't seem like the best approach. Also, I'm not entirely sure if I was served lamb shank or mutton; the bone felt quite large for lamb.

The Peruvian food here is absolutely delicious! I highly recommend trying the king salmon with blue mashed potatoes. The seasonings on every dish were fantastic. The empanadas were also a delightful addition to the meal.
