My family and I come here a few times a year, and unfortunately, the kitchen and bar service are always slow. Just to give you an idea, last time we were there, it took 62 minutes for our food to arrive after ordering! We even placed a to-go order, and it took nearly 90 minutes to receive it (lo mein and orange chicken), despite the restaurant not being even half full!
The restaurant is gorgeous and appears to have been recently renovated. Unfortunately, the food quality has declined since their early days in Walnut Creek. I was excited to try their famous Orange Peel Beef, but was disappointed to find that they had altered the recipe, resulting in a sticky and fatty layer over the beef. It was not as flavorful or healthy as before. The service was average, but not exceptional.
The Peking spare ribs were priced at $33 and unfortunately, they were dry and overcooked. My friend didn't want to send them back. The other entrees were decent but didn't quite live up to the exceptional standard they used to be.
Extremely rude hostess with zero sense of customer service. Super long wait time for table despite having a reservation. Food was good but small portions for “shareable” entree value. Waiter made good attempt to redeem the experience as did the floor manager but probably won’t try this again.
I booked on open table. 15 minutes before the reservation. The young gentleman didn’t accept it, he wouldn’t accept it because open table reservations need 2 hours before booking.
