We ordered food, but my order was incorrect and had to be sent back. My friend started eating while I waited for my meal, but it took over an hour for it to arrive. By the time it did, I had lost my appetite and found the food to be mediocre at best.
I was expecting this restaurant to be crowded based on the reviews I had read, but it was actually very big and empty. Despite this, the service was excellent and the waiter was very friendly and helpful with our food and drink choices. The restaurant had two big screens showing football, which was a bit strange in such a large, empty space, but we were there more for the experience. The food was decent, though I suspected the sauce may have come from a bottle. It wasn't as good as something I would cook at home, but it was still edible. I enjoyed my unfiltered light beer. The biggest surprise was being asked to leave at 9pm, even though we had only arrived at 7.30pm. It seemed like they had decided to close early, but it would have been nice if they had let me finish my drink. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for a surreal experience.
Food Mamos kotletas okay Cepelinai made out of potato flour, not fresh potatoes Music Terrible live Russian music It was so loud that we couldn’t focus on food. We asked to put it down a few times We were asked to pay £4 each for the music after being seated. It was super weird The Manager Customer service does not exist. The manager (bearded guy) got so angry and unprofessional when we refused to pay for the music. Might be the reason why the restaurant was empty on a Friday night.
Hi all, It's a huge disappointment!!! On Saturday, 5th March 2022 we had a table booked at this restaurant. Therefore it was my best friend's birthday party, so we thought that we will have a nice evening. At arrival we've been asked to scan ID's or Bank card. They have some sort of scanning machine at the entrance. I've asked on what purpose you asking this? Security guard said that this is required to monitor people numbers at the restaurant. So, I've refused to show my ID or bank account to him. He then said, in this case you won't be allowed to dine in. I proposed an alternative NHS Covid pass. He replied that this document doesn't have a photograph and we can let you in. So then I've confronted him by saying that Bank account card also don't have a photograph... He got angry and a little bit lost to what he should replay. After 10 15 mins of heated conversation we've decided not to dine at all and we've selected another place in Stratford. This was my first time at this restaurant and I also the last one. Will not recommend to anyone this place. The atmosphere is also very unpleasant!!!
Popped in for a couple of pints after picking up some shopping. Was asked if I wanted a table just for myself so informed the lady that I would sit at the bar as I only wanted a drink, only to be told you can 't sit at the bar . I wasn 't aware there were any covid restrictions preventing me doing so or couldn 't see why there were 8 or more stools at the bar waiting to be perched on! Even more interesting was the hypocrisy given the following as I assume the above was because of covid? Moving on, I sat at a table after which I was presented with a menu, I 'd already stated I just wanted a beer. Was then told it was CASH ONLY! That was my que to leave. I mean who carries cash around these days. I can accept it in a Chinese take away but this is the only pub/restaurant I know that doesn 't take card. So no sitting at the bar because, I assume, of covid but no cards accepted which basically says who cares about covid! At least there 's other places to get a beer nearby that wanted my money so won 't be going in the Shepherds Inn again. Pete
