Scroggin - Wanaka

There are plenty of excellent vegan choices on both the menu and in the display case at this restaurant. I particularly liked the mushroom toastie and a vitamin C juice. As others have mentioned before, the toastie is delicious and the vegan cheese they use is fantastic. However, the price is a bit on the high side considering that half of the plate is just a simple green salad with a little bit of dressing. Updated review as of September 22, 2023.

Wow, the NuDairy cheese used in this sandwich is probably the closest thing to real cheese that I've ever tasted, and the portion size was huge. Unfortunately, the high price point is a drawback. Adding the cheese to the sandwich brings the total cost to over $30, which is quite expensive for what is supposed to be a simple meal.

Although on the more expensive side, the quality of the food and coffee here makes it worth it. The mushroom toastie was our favorite, but the scrambled tofu was also delicious and satisfying. The coffee was some of the best we had during our time in Queenstown Wanaka. They also had vegan cookies and banana bread in the display case that looked tempting, although we didn't try them. Guest wifi is available.

I had the avocado toast it was amazing so many flavours I loved the toasted seed topping lemon. Brought a vegan cookie to go and it to was delicious

We had the cookie and the banana bread, both were delicious but the banana bread was fantastic!!! Super nice ambiance, reasonable price for cabinet desserts, and both indoor and outdoor seats away from the road. Rare in NZ
