Secondly, the staff are absolutely horrible, witnessed a young group’s designated driver get ‘cut off’ and not allowed back in for being ‘too drunk’, the poor girl was clearly sober and looked on the brink of tears. Bleach blonde haired woman was absolutely horrendous to her while her very drunk and loud friends were allowed to continue drinking. Will not be coming back here again seeing how they treat paying customers.
Some of the younger female staff were really rude with no customer service skills they need to improve their manners
Literally went in it was really busy which on a Friday fair play most of the staff were rude apart from 1 who was awsome after a little encouragement. They ran out of all larges.anyway after eventually getting a table the food was spot on.spoke to the doorman Abdul he was a gent even though a Liverpool fan lol he was a genuinely a nice guy.anyway walked out to go back to the hotel and the South African female door person said u can't smoke there even though we Literally don't smoke and had no intention of smoking there and then within seconds lit a cigarette in virtually the same place and when I questioned her said it was OK as she needed to watch what was going on.weatherspoon u need to sort your staff. People return when welcomed with friendly staff ie Abdul peace out much love Manchester
We stumbled across this while killing time in the area during a work trip and ended up eating here on consecutive days. It’s the smallest Wetherspoons we have been in but has a small garden area too. The staff were the best Spoons employees we have encountered as they were all welcoming and friendly despite it being busy. Standard Wetherspoons food but portions were good compared with some others and the service was prompt (we used the app to order). Enjoyed reading about the history of the area and why this is called The Asparagus.
I like a pint of proper ale and they have a constantly changing range of superb beers. Staff are very friendly. The problem is that the ales often have that cloudy appearance and slight appley tang that you get when the lines arent cleaned often enough. Clean your lines (proper clean, not just a flush) and your beers will be superb.
