Difficult to beat for pub grub. Northcote is abuzz with friendly punters and staff, easy going vibe with really good food, lamb particularly good and if you want a hearty meal, a fine ale and a good atmosphere on the northcote road, it is hard to beat. Nevertheless, it is pub food and it is important to expect nothing more, michelin starred it ain't but enjoy it, a thoroughly english experience.

The service at this restaurant was truly exceptional. The manager, Jack, went above and beyond to take care of us and was incredibly friendly and welcoming to my visiting parents and sister. He even gave us great recommendations for other pubs to check out. I would definitely come back again.
