Megumi - Wantagh

I am not sure if my experience was a one-time occurrence, but the tuna in my sushi rolls was inedible and unappetizing, appearing to be past its expiration date (see attached photo). I am a frequent sushi eater, but this was the first time I encountered raw tuna of such poor quality in terms of texture and color. I couldn't even finish my rolls after removing the tuna because its taste was unpleasant and ruined my appetite. Unfortunately, I was unable to contact the restaurant as they were closed at that time. On a positive note, the other sushi roll I tried was decent, and the staff was friendly during pickup.

My husband and I came to try their poke bowls and they were fresh and delicious!!

I was in the neighborhood and decided to stop by for lunch after reading positive reviews on Facebook. I ordered a kani salad and a sexy girl roll. The kani salad was made with cucumber and mayo, but it was a bit too heavy on the mayo for my taste. The sexy girl roll was delicious, with spicy tuna and avocado on the inside, topped with salmon, white fish, jalapeño, and chili sauce on the outside. It had a nice balance of flavors and wasn't overpowering with spice. There were also crunchy bits inside that weren't mentioned on the menu. The sushi chef was friendly and attentive, promptly replacing my chopsticks when they fell and even giving me a complimentary water bottle. He refused payment for the water, showing exceptional hospitality. I would definitely return to this restaurant for another meal.

Love their Pokelicious and Long Island Roll is my personal favorite.Glad there's a good take-out sushi poke spot in Wantagh now.

Fairly surprised by the raving reviews.. ordered for the first time for delivery. The sushi rice was extremelyyyy sweet. The wasabi is dry and crumbly and lacking in flavor, and they only send low sodium soy sauce. Their spicy crab is good, the Boston roll is 95% mixed lettuce. Ended up having to take apart the rolls and eat in parts bc the super sweet rice and hard avocado with no wasabi just don’t make a cohesive roll. Maybe I ordered on an off day, might try again, but not likely.
