Shipley Do-nuts - Warr Acres

This was my first visit to a Shipley’s, and I admit the negative reviews made me a bit apprehensive. However, I went around 5 PM and ordered a fresh Shipley Bold filled with sausage, cheese, and jalapeño. It was absolutely fantastic! What stood out to me was the generous amount of cheese and the soft, fresh bread. In contrast, the donut shop near my home tends to use sausage where the cheese and jalapeño are inside the sausage, resulting in a denser kolache that often has less cheese and can be drier. Shipley’s had a perfect balance with plenty of cheese and jalapeño nestled between the sausage and the bread, just as it should be. While I’m not sure if Slovacek's is the ultimate standard for Texas kolaches, what I enjoyed this morning at Shipley’s is definitely worth trying out. Just make sure to go early!

Great donuts! They close at 3 PM, and I always wish they stayed open later! Haha. Nine out of ten times, I go for my favorite, the Boston cream, which is probably because they’re just so delicious. The staff is always friendly and fast.

The staff who served us were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The kolaches were fresh when we arrived at 9:30 a.m., and the donuts were absolutely amazing! I will definitely be returning.

My assessment of 2yrs before when they just opened and ran from different management. they have good donuts and the customer service was good. much better experience in this time.

I visit Shirley’s about 2 times a month, I love the chocolate donuts and always order a couple. The problem that I have is how they package them. Every time the chocolate icing is all over the bag and not on the donut. Maybe you need to figure out how to package them better. So the icing is on the donut and not all over inside of the bag.
