Hop Pole 49 - Warrington

Oh my goodness, the security staff at this establishment are truly exceptional. I am originally from Warrington but now live in Manchester. I have always loved this bar, but when I went there last night, I was asked for ID. I thought it must have been a joke, but at 45 years old, it made my whole night. As I was at the bar, a random person threatened to stab me out of nowhere. Within 3 seconds, the bouncers had him removed from the premises. Everyone in the bar checked to make sure I was okay. It was an amazing place, and as soon as I figure out how to properly thank the bouncers, I will. They wouldn't let me buy them a drink, but The Hop Pole is incredible, and their bouncers are top-notch.

Called in for a pint. The place was very well maintained and had some excellent original features. Clearly this is a local for many people as there were a number of clients in there that looked to be fixtures and fittings themselves. Horse racing on the TV looked to be popular and the atmosphere over all was very laid back and friendly. Good range of beers at the bar were on offer.

Went in on Easter bank holiday and it was lovely from the off as we was greeted by the most chatty, polite well mannered door staff. Something you don’t see anymore so I was happily surprised. Bar staff was a younger looking lady and she was delightful too. Good selection of spririts and beers. Will be visiting again when we’re back in the area.

I visited this restaurant on a Saturday evening and was disappointed by the bar staff. The woman serving us, covered in tattoos and appearing unwashed, was very rude. The young girl serving us also seemed disinterested and like she didn't want to be there. I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome, as if speaking up would get me kicked out. The prices were also high for the quality of service. I will not be returning to this restaurant. It seems Warrington is not the same as it used to be.

It's been a good pub through the years and it still is now in my eyes. All ages of people come in here, commuters catching the train, people who need a taxi or a bus as it is located next to the bus station. Music . Give it a try as you will either love it or you won't . Some very nice staff some not as friendly make your own mind up but on music nights it's good
