However, that was the highlight of the evening. My wife enjoyed her chicken Parmagianni, but I was disappointed with my large cannelloni, which was drowned in melted cheese, causing the pasta to turn into a mushy mess with little ragu sauce. The mozzarella garlic bread was presented in a rustic manner in tin foil. We had to ask for more drinks after finishing our first round. While the restaurant was busy and others may have enjoyed their meals, we believe there are better family-style Italian restaurants, or places like Prezzo if you prefer chain-style Italian food.
I was expecting a family run home made meal, which when I visited the Warwick branch… it was exactly that… but leamington was a very different experience. The pizza was American thick pan style, not what I expect from a family run business, the lasagne had clearly been frozen and was tasteless..: very disappointing The starter and desserts were reasonably good. Service was slow… and no one asked if the food was ok… I can now see why from the other reviews… won’t be coming back… what a shame
Disgusting food. Almost certainly frozen and premade. Terrible service. Staff didn't care or acknowledge. So angry we didn't leave after starters...our mains were so bad we left them almost untouched. So 85 quid down. We asked to speak to a manager who didn't exist. Do not waste your time or money
Upon entering the restaurant, I immediately noticed that it did not smell like typical food, which was a red flag for me. My experience was not great at all. The customer service was very poor and the food was tasteless. I waited 24 hours for the manager on duty to call me to discuss my experience, but I felt compelled to share my opinion publicly. The arancini was overcooked and had no saffron flavor or color. The fried calamari was served with sachets of tartar sauce, which was disappointing. The frutti di mare tasted so bland that I questioned if I was eating chicken, with a strong vinegar taste from pre-made vegetables in a pickled jar. The Piccolinos pasta with swordfish left a horrible taste in my mouth, dry as if it had been reheated in the microwave. The linguini with seafood was also tasteless, lacking any wine flavor. I was not asked how the food was, which concerned me, even when I asked for the bill and left the main dishes on the table. As a Sicilian, I take pride in our food and service, but unfortunately, this restaurant did not meet my expectations. I paid the full bill out of courtesy, even though I shouldn't have. I requested to speak with a manager but was told no one was available. I left my contact information on a note, but it seemed that they did not care. I would recommend choosing a different restaurant.
First, let's start with the positive aspect. The service at this restaurant was decent, but unfortunately, things quickly went downhill from there. The Calamari we ordered was tough, chewy, and barely warm. The presentation, with tartare sauce in sachets, was lacking compared to what our local fish and chip shop could offer. The pizzas tasted like cardboard and lacked flavor. The restaurant was nearly empty on a Friday night, which is understandable given our experience. No one checked in on us to see how our meal was. We would have complained, but we were dining with elderly friends who had chosen the restaurant, and we didn't want to upset them. It had been 20 years since our last visit, and unfortunately, we won't be returning.
