South Beach Resto + Lounge

AWFUL! HORRIBLE! DISGUSTING!__THIS PLACE IS WORSE THAN HELL__On a recent visit to Wasaga Beach, some friends and I decided to go out on the town.

Overpriced and below par quality of foodWait time was inordinately long and the taste didn't justify the wait.

The service was disgustingThe staff is rudeThe bouncers charged me $20 to enter and I later found out there was no cover.

We've been to this restaurant many times last summer, and were so impressed with every aspect of the place (was called Copacabana then). We've been there twice this summer now that it's called South Beach Restaurant. We went to this restaurant this past Wednesday for wing night, but compared to the last time we were there for wing night in June.....found the service and food really deteriorated and we left displeased and vowed to never patronize this restaurant again. First, we stood at the entrance for awhile, and no one came to greet us or tell us to seat ourselves. Finally, went up to the bar where the staff were socializing and asked whether or not we seat ourselves. They handed us the menu and told us to seat ourselves. We proceeded to the upper deck where we saw a waitress wipe a nearby table off with used napkins! The chicken wings did not taste fresh, nor were they hot, actually they were cold. We left the majority of the food uneaten. The waitress did not provide us any plates to put our food on, so I asked for them. It seemed far too long before she reappeared with plates, however, she stopped to talk to another table about their order, and I finally got up from my chair and went over and took the plates from the waitresses hand! Another table near us had their cocktails screwed up, and they were replaced complimentary. The restaurant was untidy and no managers on site (as I wanted to speak to someone), but was told only the Bar Manager, Tammy was on shift. The last time we ate there, the cook, Karim, came up to the roof deck and walked around greeting guests and asking how the food was. But, it's clear the place has gone down hill since Karim's departure approximately 3 or 4 weeks ago according to our waitress. Such a shame for the place to go downhill when it has such a million dollar view at sunset. Alas, we won't be back, and certainly won't be recommending South Beach Restaurant to anyone. As we departed, I said to my husband, that we should have just gone to Burger King next door! Gee!!!!

So very disappointed, really prefer to give good ratings sadly no way I can here. The upper deck which has the best view is closed to reservations only on weekends but no one was there at all , expensive , slow service they served the beer in the wrong glasses said they were out of the proper ones , they opened at 11 and we were there at noon , cancelled the expensive appetizer and paid for the expensive beer and went to another location with a much better ambiance and better prices !!Will NEVER GO OR RECOMMEND TO ANYONE !!!
