On my very first visit to Washington DC, my first stop was at Devon&Blakey. I was looking for something healthy, but light on the stomach and wallet. Now, I have also never been to D&B 's but I really liked how structured their business model is focused of customer choice and efficiency. With multiple employees at 1 of 4 stations I was able to quickly graze between a wide variety of very delicious looking 'healthy ' food. It felt like a round about, which was cool cuz by then I was really hungry!
Amazing to have 20 soups to choose from! I still took good old chicken noodle though lol.... The sandwiches were fresh and tasty. A little pricey but maybe I'm just not used to Washington prices.
I go here at least once per week. Tons of soups and sandwich options and essentially unlimited salad combinations. The highly efficient ordering system can be confusing at first, but it means you get in/out really quickly. Great for vegetarians. Probably not great for those with severe allergies. Good prices. Friendly staff.
They have such great variety of soups with some vegetarian choices, not something you see everywhere. Their sandwiches are also very good, no wonder that they always sell out of the pre-made ones by 1:30.
