Maxwells - Washington

You would think that being the only guests in the restaurant would mean we’d receive attentive service and prompt food delivery. Unfortunately, this was not the case. While I can understand that a group of 15 might be challenging without a reservation, we had made one in advance, and the entire space was empty. There was no reason for us to wait thirty minutes for appetizers and over an hour for our main courses. Our waitress did her best to keep our spirits up, but the service was lacking. The restaurant does not offer a children's menu, so I ordered the macaroni and cheese appetizer without seafood, and thankfully, it arrived alongside the appetizers, sparing my hungry son from waiting too long. As I was watching my carb intake, I opted for the Caesar Salad with steak, while my husband chose the Pittsburgh Salad, which includes French fries on top. Had I known how disappointing my salad would be, I might have indulged more in the appetizers. My salad was over-dressed with both dressing and cheese, the croutons tasted stale, and I received the lettuce stems. I definitely won’t order that again. Overall, most people at our table felt the food was just okay. There are certainly better dining options in the area.

I had lunch there today for my church's bus tour, and the chicken was absolutely delicious! Unfortunately, one of the waitstaff was quite unkind and appeared annoyed by even the simplest requests. She couldn't even tell me if the cake contained tree nuts, which I'm allergic to. She just shrugged and acted as if I was bothering her. Despite that, I would definitely go back for the chicken, hoping to avoid that server next time.

If I were staying at the Double Tree, I would find this restaurant to be a convenient choice. The menu is quite limited overall. During my last few visits, I've had the salmon; the portion size is generous, but I'm not particularly impressed with the quality.

My friends I had a great experience at Maxwells on July 4th. Of course most people were at cookouts or parties, so the place was dead but we enjoyed ourselves. We ordered the wings as an appetizer which were cooked well then got the chicken Caesar turkey avacado wraps with fries to share. The wraps were delicious, a decent size, and you get a huge serving of fries. This was plenty for the 4 of us after being at the pool all day. We had a couple drinks as well. Our server was awesome and the food was both fresh hot. We even used the juke box and played a couple songs! I plan to return to Maxwell's sometime soon. Great addition to the Double Tree!
