Food was nothing special, not too many options really. The atmosphere within the brewery was strange smelled of stale cigarettes and weed; toilets didn’t flush. People outside were sketchy. Beers were tasty though.Food: 3/5
This is actually a brewery with the taproom at Shaw. I got there right at 4:00pm, after opening. It was pretty quiet, great time to get a pint after a working day. They have a good selection of their own beer, as well as guest beer cans, cider, wine and spirit. $5 pint on happy hour during the weekdays 4-6pm. I liked this place overall, next time I'll get some food as well.
Early visit, right in time for the happy hour. Ready for a Raised by Wolves dry hopped Pale Ale. A well brewed Pale Ale as I like it. After this, I recoment the fruity Voyage to Nectaron IPA.Located close to the Shaw Howard University and Theater and the Duke Ellington Memorial.Metro Greenline, Buses 90 and 96 to bring You close to here.
This is a great brewery in D.C. The neighborhood is definitely still developing. We visited on a Sunday and managed to find street parking after going around the block a few times. Next time, I would consider taking the metro, which is conveniently located just around the corner. The beer selection featured many of their popular choices, along with a few new varieties I hadn't tried before. The venue itself is lovely, with plenty of bar seating and an outdoor patio. The service was excellent. If you're in the Shaw area, it's definitely worth a visit!
