This kitchen does not mess around. Chef and crew “Bravo!” Our server, Tucker, was phenomenal. He was so professional and polite and flawless. If I was in this industry, I would snatch him in a heartbeat. The frozen spicy margarita was delicious. Hats off to the bartender. The pork al pastor Island Nachos, our appetizer, was delicious. For our entrees, we had the Cayman Islands Enchiladas and the Rock House Bowl. Both were masterfully executed and served piping hot. What a perfect evening! Happy Memorial Day.
Great pork belly sliders and Fries. The Tahiti salad was good but there were WAY too many bean sprouts on it. Every bite tasted like just bean sprouts which is a shame because the dressing, and mango give the salad really good flavor. I started to scoop mine off to the side of my plate. My tip is to ask for no bean sprouts on this salad to truly enjoy it fully.
The food and drinks are amazing here! They have many different options that offer a taste of the Caribbean in a taco, burrito or bowl. Some of the staff were nice, but others seemed to second guess themselves when serving us. Almost like the were scared of black people. Other than the random awkwardness, we had a good time. Everything we tried we enjoyed and we appreciated the suggestions from our waiter. I’d definitely give this place another try as I’ve been to the DuPont location and had a totally different experience; I’d definitely love to see an improvement with the interaction I had with some of their staff.
The food and drinks are always really good here. For drinks we had the spicy margarita, blood orange crush and the surfsider. All were awesome. We had the chicken fajitas and nachos, and in the past I have enjoyed the pork belly sliders. What I love most about this place is that no matter where you sit, it feels like you’re outside. In the summer they can open basically all the walls of the restaurant to create the open air feeling. I’m surprised it’s not more busy, because there are very few places like it but we never have a problem getting seats.
We love Surfside! It was ALWAYS our first night's stop when we would visit DC and usually our last nights too. Today, we finally moved to DC and wouldn't have thought of anything else to celebrate with. The Cozumel is insane and the Port Antonio was a new one for us from Surfside, but we will for sure get it again. Amazing! Try the Horchata, it's very tasty.
