The Next Whisky - Washington

My reservation was messed up multiple times, despite my repeated confirmations and communication with the bar. The food portions were incredibly small, and I ended up spending $175 on just two appetizers and four drinks! It was such a headache. I'm really disappointed.

I will never return to any Watergate restaurant, especially after some disappointing visits to Top of the Gate. The igloos were marketed as a unique experience, but what we encountered was simply covered seating on a sidewalk with a poorly executed theme. The hostess was rude, and it took a long time to get menus (I even had to step outside to request service). We didn’t appear to have a dedicated server, and both drinks and food were overpriced. The Bluetooth setup in the igloo was configured in such a way that our playlist kept getting interrupted by the activities of other igloos. I felt embarrassed for choosing this as a birthday gift for my boyfriend.

DO NOT BOOK THE IGLOOS. They might be available at various bars throughout the city, but the Watergate charges HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS for them and keeps the actual cost hidden until you get the bill. This is one of the most misleading business practices I've seen in DC. Avoid it at all costs. Our waitress, who was very kind, even apologized for this situation. I will never return.

I was embarrassed to have chosen as a birthday present for my friend.
