This place is classic and I am surprised that I did not try it earlier, everything from the charming interior design, the beautiful service and eating really.
Visiting dc by nyc, we decided to check dbgb as the nyc closed and it was good we ordered here a tarte-fambée and let them tell me.
We really enjoyed our dinner here. We had the Chefs tasting menu. The flavors were complex yet very comforting. I really LOVE the attention the chef has given to the veggies. The Sea Bass....perfection..... Absolutely a home run. IMPECCABLE service, thank you, and a very pleasant atmosphere.
Have been here three times now and can say the meals are consistently delicious. Once we were a couple, another time part of a group of friends and this night part of a special large group. On all the occasions the staff were professional, courteous and helpful. Each type of party requires a different touch and each time they had the right approach. On this night, we had the large group prefix selections. Salad or gazpacho, chicken roti, seabass or filet, being a meat lover had to go filet. Finished with a chocolate lava cake with a coffee mocha ice cream, because ya know, chocolate. Although many enjoyed the citrus fruit tart topped with meringue.I don't remember our other two meals in detail but remember enjoying the food and service then as well.If there's a weak spot it would be the coffee. Forgettable, weak brew which seemed out of character with the other carefully prepared dishes. There's a strong wine menu and good, well prepared cocktails.Don't come often but have always enjoyed the experience.
