We arrived on time for our reservation and there was no one available to greet us at the door. After waiting 4 minutes, we were asked for our vaccine cards and IDs and were seated. A group of four came in immediately after we provided IDs and were also seated (they were not mixed race). 15 minutes passed without any service including water. The group who entered behind us was not only catered to but ordered and received drinks. When I saw the server who later stated that he was a manager, I waved for his attention. His response from the base of the stairs, approximately 15 feet away, was WHAT, what 's going on! I responded, NOTHING gesturing my hands to show that there was no water and drinks on the table. His response yelling back was GOOD and proceeded to the service station. I immediately got up and followed him to address the large level of disrespect and obvious ignorance. I asked for the manager which he said he was one but then quickly stated that he wasn 't the only manager. In short, he stated that he didn 't have any time and that he was busy. While I 'm not surprised that people of this nature exist, I was surprised that they are servers in a city with a black population the size of DC 's. I will never return to this restaurant and STRONGLY advise you shouldn 't either!!! Obviously, we did not have French food that night!
A local gem. I've now been twice and it's been wonderful both times second time even better than the first. The environment is cozy, the music is always enjoyable, and the staff wants you to feel right at home. I highly recommend the escargot, bouillabaisse, and either the apple or pistachio desserts. The espresso is hot and the wine options are great. Happy hour means 1/2 off on glasses of wine. Casual environment, and can also be a cute intimate night where you dress up.
Our FREEelectrons.Family review: A great place for a date for these tired and busy parents when this was our 'hood. It 's not cheap, but, HEY!Where else can you get great French food in DC? Besides, nothing here on H street or DC is.Check out more reviews... and much more of our free electrons family semi-nomadic life abroad. Just GOOGLE us!BIG SMILE! free electrons family ? ???
Le Grenier has a great brunch deal. You get a choice of either a mimosa, rosé, or champagne for your drink and a choice of an appetizer and entrée or an entrée and a dessert for around $24 a person. The restaurant has a great feel too it and I loved all of the decor. The service is quite slow (however it is a French) and the food overall is a bit underwhelming. Nothing memorable. I got the pâté which was decent and the steak which was a bit bland and overcooked.
High quality french restaurant on H. The cocktails are high quality and the french onion soup is notable. Make sure to order dessert here it 's one of the best parts of the menu. Service is friendly and accommodating we once left in a hurry and the owner chided us Americans always in a hurry . Since then we have made our dinners here much longer events.Check it out!
