We went for Restaurant week brunch with 11am reservation. We had to wait outside until a t least 11:15am with everyone else, since the restaurant doors were locked until then. Once inside, hostess was slow to seat all of us with reservations. We were given the dinner menu and asked our waitress about it, she said it was correct. She had a hard time explaining what we could pick for restaurant week, we ordered and she came back to tell us we had the wrong menu. Gave us brunch menus then took our orders. The appetizer bagel and lox came out with no cream cheese at all, and we had to request it. There was not enough smoked salmon for both sides of the bagel and the bagel was of poor quality. The entrees were sub-par, they used deli meat ham and turkey for dishes which should have used hand carved, and the portions were too big in the dishes we ordered. Wait staff was very slow and non-attentive. The desserts were also very underwhelming and the petit four platter came out with frozen cookies and chocolate so hard it could not be eaten. Will never return here and do not recommend to anyone. Entire staff seemed very disorganized during the brunch service.
It doesn’t matter because the restaurant is closing tomorrow, but they did not have what they advertised they would for restaurant week and the server was rude about it.
Woodward Table has an excellent menu of seafood, comfort food, and classic American food. They were very attentive and they paid close attention to our needs. We went for lunch during restaurant week so the value of our meal was excellent.
So I usually like Woodward Table, but they clearly couldn’t manage crowd for restaurant week. Had a 12:15 reservation and were seated quickly. Took a long time for waiter to come to the table. Didn’t get appetizer until 1:15 and then entree 20 minutes later. At 1:45 I asked to have our deserts wrapped to go. I don’t know a lot of working people who can have an unexpected 2 hour lunch. Waiter also forgot to bring bread that we ordered. Fortunately he also never charged for it. Will be some time before I go back.
