I ordered the Grilled Ham Cheese sandwich expecting to be served a couple of pieces of ham lunch meat and a slice of cheese on toasted bread. Was I ever pleasantly surprised when I got actual sliced ham and plenty of cheese! I also had the corn nuggets and cole slaw, which were both excellent. The Village Inn is truly a hidden treasure, and we can't wait to go back to try some of their other menu items.
Good, homemade, inexpensive food and desserts. Can only be topped by the colourful characters that visit daily. Where else can you get a bottomless cup of coffee for $1.49?
Astonishingly disgusting, in appearance and food. I decided to visit here since we were a little hungry, and we wholeheartedly regret it. The building is in deplorable condition, and the inside is just as bad that it makes me wonder if they passed their health inspections. It reeked of a undistinguishable smell I can't put my finger on. The food was terrible as well, a person who dined with me had some roast beef, which was in their words okay and the item I ordered, some chicken, was awful. They literally admitted that after I compalined that it was prepackaged frozen chicken, which is kind of cheap, both in price and buisiness. I also ordered some mashed potatoes, and it was inedible. They used instant mashed potato flakes and it is worse than what you can cook at home. We accepted our losses in the end and learned our lesson. The lesson is Don't eat here If you want to go somewhere to eat, the nearby city of Danville has many options for eating, such as a McDonald, Wendy's, and a Perkins Restaurant and Bakery. One place I higly recommend you should eat at is the R R's Tin Cup in Turbotville, which has delicious burgers and chicken, plus an ice cream stand. Please, avoid this restauraunt like the plague, no matter how hungry you may be.
A Lovely Early Dinner with Bruce at The Sonestown Village Inn...Yum!
Absolutely revolting, both in terms of appearance and taste. I made the mistake of coming here when we were a bit hungry, and it was a decision I deeply regret. The building is in terrible shape and the interior is just as bad, raising concerns about their health standards. There was a strong, unpleasant odor that I couldn't quite place. The food was no better - my dining companion found their roast beef to be passable, but the chicken I ordered was abysmal. Upon complaining, it was revealed that the chicken was prepackaged and frozen, a cheap choice for both the price and the establishment. The mashed potatoes were inedible, made from instant flakes that were worse than anything you could make at home. We accepted our defeat and learned our lesson - never eat here. If you're looking for dining options, nearby Danville offers a variety of choices including McDonald's, Wendy's, and Perkins Restaurant and Bakery. I highly recommend R R's Tin Cup in Turbotville for delicious burgers, chicken, and ice cream. Steer clear of this restaurant at all costs, no matter how hungry you may be.
