John Bale Books And Cafe - Waterbury

This café is the best in Waterbury! The lunch staff is friendly and always eager to help anyone who visits. The service is excellent, the food is even better, and the Square Table Club, which meets daily, welcomes everyone—strangers included—to join in and discuss a wide range of topics.

When I worked at the YMCA, we frequently ordered lunch from John Bale's. It's been about four years since then, and today I stopped by during my lunch break from jury duty. I've really missed this place! I ordered the tuna pasta salad, a bag of Maui sweet onion chips, and a birch beer. My breath wasn’t exactly fresh after that meal, but the staff was incredibly friendly!

10/10! I absolutely love their iced coffee and the entertainment. When you walk in, it feels like every charming little bookstore from the books you've ever read has come to life. The atmosphere is so relaxing!

Great food and atmosphere! Decor made up of art and books is my idea of heaven.
