The chicken dish that my dining companion ordered was supposed to come with peach chutney, but it turned out to just be plain peaches. It was quite disappointing. The mini pies looked appetizing, but the taste was subpar. The custard filling even tasted like margarine. My wife's burger was nothing extraordinary compared to those in Hamilton. Perhaps it was just an off day for the restaurant, as it is usually busy.
This restaurant is now the standard by which I judge all others. Whenever I consider trying a new place, I find myself thinking, "I wish we had waited to see if Jonny Blonde was out today." Their use of fresh ingredients results in a mouthwatering menu that never disappoints. It's easy to see why they are such a popular choice for catering. Additionally, the entire staff is incredibly sweet, friendly, and amazing.
This place is my new visit. the food is amazingly fresh and so delicious. Just a little more expensive than the hospital food, it is quality FAR EXCEEDS the additional costs. I eat here once a week. The salads are filled and fresh. Just wait a bit when you get too early. Then fresh, high quality food needs time. I highly recommend
Not even much of a line-up when his truck is around. A fusion of mixtures with fresh ingredients. His reuben sandwich is supposed to die. All that meat has in it is great and the rolls are made at home, at least they were... I had it. I had his food at SuperCrawl in Hamilton. Note: He has a brick and mortar over the Henderson Hospital, known as Juravinski, on Concession Street. Honestly, the food you get is underestimated for quality. It's worth it, and if you think it's not quality, they'll do another until you love it.
I ordered a grilled cheese for lunch this week, for which I waited about 20 mins. Not good when you're on a timed scheduled lunch break. The ingredients promised cheese with caramelized onions and add bacon for $2.00 extra, which I did. It ended up...being a$9.00 grilled cheese sandwich with not much too it. Firstly, there was no caramelized onions on it and the bread was thickly sliced. Bacon was adequate but the cheese was ordinary. The cleanliness aspect furrowed my brows. They placed the x2 grilled cheese sandwiches in cardboard containers and stacked the one on top of each other so that the one sandwich was in contact with the bottom of the other container. Furthermore the guy then seperated them and then placed the cash register receipts ontop of each sandwich. Not very smart when your restaurant is located across from a hospital with an eagle eye for cleanliness. I might give them one more try to redeem themselves before completely abandoning them as a lunchtime eatery.
