Heard good stuff about this place and don’t know why. First bring your money because it’s expensive the food was ok but seriously for the money it should be way more. Service was blaaaa but hey let’s not forget the 20% tip, plus apparently they don’t like to heat the place. I will say it’s clean- even the restroom. But not planning on going back
Mersims has absolutely gone downhill. I stopped by tonight to celebrate my brothers birthday and we both ordered the seafood platter. It was honestly one of the worst seafood meals I’ve ever had. The lobster tail was overcooked, they didn’t serve half the items promised in the menu missing scallops and potatoes. We said something to the waitress and after she spoke with her manager (on the phone, no manager present in person apparently) and they gave a measly 15% discount on just the seafood meal. Definitely not worth the $30 I paid for each seafood platter. I also never got a refill of my soda, and it was empty for over 20 minutes. Will never return here. I came a few years ago and this is not the same restaurant I went to then. Don’t waste your money!
Tried this place the other night. Was worried because it wasn’t really busy for a Saturday night. But wow the food was great. Amazing goulash. Need to get back there again. Met the owner and he’s doing a great job. Tip: get a side of the house dressing to dip your calamari.
This place is very close to being top notch. The decor and seating need to be more intimate and not so industrially bright so the atmosphere matches the comfort level of the cuisine.Get the feel aligned with the culinary vibe and you're 5 stars all the way.Couple few things...1) Always. Have. Chicken. Paprikash. Seriously, make it happen.2) Build an experience around the real goulash. Make it a multi-course, small plate, layered production that culminates in dipping peasant bread into that beefy goodness.3) One word: Klepe
