I went to the University of Waterloo and went to Morty's for wings more often than I probably should have. After graduating, I moved away. I came back recently to see if it was just nostalgia, but the wings have held up over their time (much like their crunchiness against the sauce). The wings have always been large and luckily they've stayed that way. You can get them breaded or unbreaded, and they have a good variety of flavours. The medium wings aren't overpowering and the sriracha BBQ sauce was very tasty. While the wings are a bit pricy on non-wing special nights, I've always appreciated the fact that they list prices by the wing count rather than by the pound. I can count wings, but I couldn't begin to guess how many wings are in a pound if I'm not a regular visitor.
Never had such a bland, boring and uninspired meal . Went for dinner and was hoping to have wings which were recommended by a friend but at $2 a piece I thought they were ridiculously over priced, also were afraid that for than king of price would get those giant wings which are never as tasty as the regular ones. All in all I could have made myself the same sandwich at home and skipped the trouble and expense. Quite disappointed .
I went here today with my fiance for lunch on their patio. It's been years since I was here, as I used to go regularly while I was in school, but the food is still delicious!I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with fries ($12) and I enjoyed it. My fiance ordered the bbq chicken club wrap ($11) and he also enjoyed his meal. We also ordered beers--they come in half pintas as well! They have a good variety on tap.Well worth checking out for wings and panzerotti as well!
One family went to Morty's tonight to take advantage of their popular Wing night. It was my first time there but my husband and teenage sons had been before and had raved about Morty's wings. Parking is almost non-existent but we were able to park on Regina St and walk through the back. The inside is much bigger than you think and has quite a lot of seating (and apparently a big private room in the lower level). We sat in a booth in the back and our server served us immediately. My daughter had a baked panzerotti (good) and the rest of us had wings - medium sauce for the men and dry Cajun as well as an order of their loaded fries for me. The wings were a good size. The Cajun wings had a crispy coating but I found them a bit too salty. Their All-Dressed fries (bacon, green onion, ranch sauce, cheese ...) were amazing and I had various family members stealing 'just one more' throughout the meal. We had a manager stop buy to check on us which is always nice. Overall, a great family night out. We will be back.
