I'm happy to live nearby and often do... maybe they know me by name! The Jenseitsburger here is the best I had. I don't know why exactly the bungalow of the vegan garlic aioli it's all wonderful! They also have Brussels spears with vegan parmesan, which can be a meal for themselves.

I wanted to eat here with my mother as I saw that she offered vegan options and was close to her house. I ordered the BBQ Jackfruit Tacos with a side salad. Cheers to our server Chris for the recommendation of a salad dressing that was vegan (I had originally ordered one that was not), which was delicious. The BBQ Jackfruit Tacos were great. There were 2 tacos on the plate with a lot of Kohlslaw, which was very tasty. My only negative comment is that the plates (for my tacos and salad) could have been bigger as I slipped food out of the plates a few times (my mother had the same problem with the food she also received). My mother, a non-vegan, thought the BBQ jack fruit tasted like meat. It was nice that the meat was not excessively softened in wet sauce. The next time I'm back in Des Moines will definitely visit here again. You have a large terrace where we sat that out of the sun and a great place to sit on a beautiful evening. Beautiful selection of local beers on tap.

The food is spectacular, but the staff are really the best part of this facility. And to round it off, they are more than happy to accommodate food allergies! Recently, I went here for date night with my significant others when we saw that the reviews were great and we are in Waukee. Sometimes we can have problems with eating because we both have nut allergies. After informing our waitress (I regretfully you don't remember her name) of our nut allergies she offered to speak directly with the chef to ensure that there were no nut products in the dishes we ordered. And in addition, they even used a difference cook top location and utensils to prepare our food. When we talk about our nut allergies to restaurants, we often feel bad how we can feel it as we difficult or high maintenance, but this waitress explained that she was actually used to it because she had a roommate with allergies at one point. And wanted to make us very clear that we were NOT difficult at all and she was more than happy to help with our accommodations. This facility has been my business for years to come thanks to the fantastic waitress and chef. If the owners/manager read this. Make sure you recognize her how she really went beyond and beyond.

The food is EXCELLENT! I loved the Wagyu Burger and Truffle Fries so much! The service was great and sitting on the terrace was so beautiful. You won't be disappointed here.

I was not expecting the food to be as good as it was at this restaurant. We ordered a lot of appetizers and a couple of entrees as well just to try a bunch of different things. The mac and cheese was amazing. The poutine was unbelievable. The french fries tasted amazing by themselves, and then there were different dipping sauces pesto and sriracha which took it to another level. When we have friends and family come in from out of town to visit we will definitely be taking them to Gastro. I highly recommend this restaurant. The service was also excellent. Any questions we had about any of the food items they explained very well. We were very pleasantly surprised and will definitely visit again.
