Feedback gevenI stopped by on my way home to grab a coffee because I was feeling tired and thought I'd also buy a plant. The garden plants were lovely, but unfortunately the coffee at the cafe was undrinkable. It was very bitter, so I didn't bother ordering any food either.
We were a family of 6 with 4 adults and 2 children. We were told we had to wait 35 minutes for a table because we hadn't booked. Who books a table in a garden centre ? We finally got seated and ordered and paid on the app. The adults food arrived over an hour later after being told several times it was just coming. The children's meals didn't arrive until more than 20 mi uses after that. Only one member of staff offered any sort of apology and that was only because one of the kids meals had been totally forgotten. Even a heads up about the wait would have been something. We would have walked out long before had we not already paid. And to top it all, it wasn't worth the wait. Very average food, dry chicken and poor service at premium prices. Never again !!
New cafe is very slow since they got rid of the table allocation system. Doesn't feel looked after, mess by the cake display, cleaning products left next to the napkins and straws. Staff slow and don't seem bothered to serve people.
How disappointing this visit was, we haven't been for a while but we were told there was a one and a half hour wait for a table in the restaurant as we hadn't booked. Went to the cafe bar and queued for a long time, we chose cheese and onion sandwiches as the cake selection was limited and we are both diabetic so a lot of sugar is a no no. The sandwiches (pre-packed) were stale, not much filling and little taste. There was obviously a staff shortage as someone had to come in from the store to clear tables. We were very surprised at the cost of things.
Very dark and unwelcoming. Very noisy. Tables not cleared. Annoying system where you have to order and pay then collect a disk to take to your table. This then flashes and buzzes when your order is ready and you have to collect it from the counter. Why can’t the order be made up and given straight away?? It surely wouldn’t take any longer? Not well organised at all. The staff seemed unfamiliar with the till, and the cakes were not even on the till menu this morning! A shambles.
