The Restaurant at Lythe Hill Hotel

It’s always very good. It was somewhat busier and noisier than we are used to so we didn’t stay as long as usual, but still worthwhile.

The setting was beautiful however the quality of the afternoon tea was poor. The cakes didn’t look fresh and were way too big, they looked like leftovers from the Sunday buffet. The crockery was dirty and I had to wipe my teacup. The sandwiches were also tasteless and not dainty as they should be for afternoon tea. I was surprised to get tea bags instead of loose leaves tea which made it look like a cheap experience. Overall, it was a disappointing experience which is a shame as the setting is truly beautiful and the staff was very friendly.

The overall experience was pleasant with decent food, drinks, and service, but nothing extraordinary.

Very very disappointing the breakfast looked as though it had been there for hours and was cold. only offered one cup of coffee and your staff started to clear before we had finished. This was a birthday treat for my husband, I felt totally let down by Lythe Hill Hotel.

A lovely restaurant that is ideal for a date or special occasion and even better if you are staying and can simply escape upstairs afterwards. We’ve been twice now and always feel well looked after.
