Atelier Antiques - Waxahachie

Great shop featuring unique vendors and antiques, but the atmosphere was quite unwelcoming. My husband and I visited, and from the moment we walked in, we sensed a cold reception from the staff. They glanced at us but didn’t say a word. I don’t usually expect a greeting, but this felt off, especially since other antique stores in the area have been much friendlier. I tried to brush it off, thinking they were just busy, and continued to explore the shop. As I mentioned, the vendor booths were impressive and reasonably priced! However, when we checked out, the same chilly vibe persisted from the employee. I can’t help but wonder if our wearing masks was a factor. I don’t want to make assumptions, as I know this topic can be divisive, but I generally believe in a live-and-let-live mentality. Regardless, I don’t think I’d feel comfortable returning, despite the appeal of several vendors I’d like to support in the future.

There is a wide variety of items available, ranging from English clothing and dressy outfits to local art, rugs, books, an abundance of glassware, knick-knacks, jewelry, dishes, and more.

The staff is extremely helpful, and there's a fantastic selection of used books.

This is a wonderful place to visit! A friend recommended it to us, and as a Brit, I was quite impressed. There are so many beautiful items, including a lot of Royal family memorabilia and fantastic books. I'm eagerly waiting for the day when the life-sized Beefeater figure goes on sale!

Great restaurant! We will definitely return on our next trip to Texas.
