They also have basic burgers, cheeseburgers, fries and all that other Dairy Queen type food. But at least from the butterscotch malt I had, I have to say that this is much better than Dairy Queen. Dairy Queen does not even carry butterscotch anymore. Every time I've driven by, there had been cars in the lot. I almost passed by again at 8:45 P.M. because I figured they would be closed. No! They are open until 9:30! Hurray for me!<br/ <br/ Pull into a stall and go up to the screened window and order there or drive around to the drive-thru. Yeah, there's a little wait for your food but this will give you a little time to relax and soak up some of the countryside. Not to mention this little piece of Americana has been here since 1958. There is no other restaurant for a couple of miles from here. The burgers are similar to Whataburger's, so they say. I will need to check that out and report back, but for now, I have to say I'm as pleased as can be with Malt Shop.
This place is good, not the greatest burger but the shakes/malts are great! Be prepared to wait out side for your order for at least 10-15 min
How wonderful!. The Malt Shop reminds me of Taylor's Refresher, a road side burger joint in St. Helena in the Napa Valley. Not exactly the same atmosphere but it's a diamond along the route from Fort Worth to Weatherford. Stop AFTER leaving Weatherford, not before. It will make the trip seem like an adventure. Of course, you have to get a malt or shake. The staff isn't too helpful so look over the menu and order, no asking tons of questions. A couple of small shops are down the road so stop in and enjoy your malt. The burger is good but focus on all the different malt flavors. You'll be so happy you went to Weatherford!
The Taste Of Home... Okay so I'm a Weatherford native and I can really vouch for the place, its been there since I was a little kid. The burgers and fries are out of this world good. Since I've moved to Nevada the food is all I've been thinking about. Gotta get this when I come home. And remember to try the shakes and fries. they truly are a thing of beauty.
Great Malts. Stopped here on the way back from buying watermelons at the Weatherford Farmers market, looking for dessert.<br/ <br/ Ordered the Butterscotch Malt (they have about 10 other flavors). It was amazing, not too sweet, good malt content, and best of all a large only cost less than $3 (after tax). Delicious.<br/ <br/ They do all the usual stuff too: burgers, fries and milkshakes, everything is hand crafted only after you order it (did not try it, but the place was very busy at 3pm). Looks like it has been here forever.
