Kountry Bakery - Weimar

While traveling back to Sugar Land on Interstate 10, we decided to exit in Weimar, TX in search of dessert. The GPS took us to Kountry Bakery. Arriving near closing time at 2:00 p.m., the selection was limited. Despite this, we were greeted warmly with a smile. After some hesitation on our part and patience from the salesperson, we decided on the apple fritters. We enjoyed the fritters and added this spot to our list.

This bakery is a must-stop off of I-10. It only took us a 5-minute detour into downtown Weimar to discover this gem. The apple fritter was hands down the best we've ever had - it was uniquely large and perfectly sweet. The kolaches were also delicious, with unique meat options such as venison and pork. A bonus was that they warmed them up for us! This was our first visit, but it definitely won't be our last. Everything we tried was top-notch and unique compared to typical donut shops.

Here for a snack. Good kolaches. Small lunch menu. Nice folks.
