Real Deal Soul Food - Weimar

Found this at 30 East Ave. Near I-10 in Schulenberg. Best fried pork chop I've had. Great sides. I had seasoned cabbage and okra and tomatoes. Mac cheese and fried fish was really good. You need to check this out if you're around Schulenberg.

Good ,the cabbage and chicken tenders are , good for lunch ,shrimp burgers ox tail off the chain . Good steaks and pork chops .

I would really like to like to give this gentleman a better review but I can not in good conscience. His kitchen work space was the dirtiest I've ever seen. He used his hand to wipe a clean space in this gross space and then didn't even wash his hands with soap, only briefly ended with water. I ordered the chicken sandwich. He ended up melting the styrofoam box with the chicken straight if the fryer. I would assume that's not healthy but I'm not an expert. In the end, I wish I would've followed my gut and walked out as soon as I walked in. However, the chicken sandwich was good, just grossed out by everything else.

Walked in and the guy didn't even look up when I said hi. Place is a dump! Don't waste your time like I did and listen to the yelp review. This place sucks!

Small shack in a grocery store parking lot, ambience is pure Spanky and Our Gang clubhouse. Stopped in for dinner while going cross-country. Three card tables and a cooktop, no customers, the cook and two other men playing dominoes. The menu was straight burger-stand fare, not much soul apparent. Signs said BBQ was available on Saturdays, so asked about that. Laconic cook said he had run out of BBQ, but could make us brisket sandwiches(? The sandwiches were tasty for sure, though we were looking forward to something more than a sandwich and a can of pop for dinner. Would have made a fine lunch.
