Gusto Trattoria - Welland

My husband and I have been there 4 times since it opened.........the first 2 times was when they first opened and it was great......loved the food. The last 2 times were terrible. When we go to an Italian restaurant we expect real good food.....you know, the home made Italian way. Last week I ordered the veal parm and was appalled to receive a deep fried frozen breaded veal cutlet topped with sauce and cheese. Come on, I can make better at home!!!! There is never anyone there. Sorry guys, but you aren't going to make it survive. Never going back. Good luck in your future endeavours.

Unfortunately, there is not very much good news about this restaurant. Our party of 5 arrived and we were the only table in the large restaurant. It's decor has zero ambience. We waited a very long time for our food and when it finally arrived 3 of our party did not receive what they ordered. Most sauces were not very tasty, the pasta was far too al dente, a steak ordered rare came well-done and an appetizer ordered never did arrive! Our server was very apologetic, trying her best but she really had not been trained properly and did not understand the menu choices and the difference among the various sauces. She offered a discount, thank you but we would rather have had what we ordered, delivered in a timely manner and delicious. This is definitely NOT delicious Italian food--- wish it was.

I have been to many restaurants and this one is on the top of the list for service. The general manager went above and beyond. Our waitress was great very friendly. Food was very food, portions were perfect size and cooked perfectly. Loved everything about this place.

We have been there many times over the past 2 months and always found the food excellent. Each time we go we order something new & different. The lasagna is one of our favourites but then we have never been disappointed with anything we have tried. Prices are most reasonable (not like the previous owners with Toronto prices). Service has always been prompt and friendly.

WE went for Valentines Day They had a special menu with your choice of 1 of 3 apps and a fresh salad which was great and then your choice of 1 of 4 entrees I had veal Oscar and the rest of my party had stuffed chicken !!! To top it off was a dessert plate with 4 different items Its a new owner and the staff were friendly but service was a little slow but they will get that sorted out All and all it was a great night
