Berggasthof Zaismann - Werfen

We spent there one night. Rooms very small but ok for short stay. Free parking. Very close to ice cave - Eisriesenwelt. Restaurant with tarrace with beautiful view on Hohenwerfen castle and mountains. Unfortunately the service was very poor. We ordered meals for 6 persons. Four meals were served in normal time but the waitress forgot about 2 more and we were waiting for them more than an hour. In the meantime we were wating 40 minutes for 3 glasses of beer. The waitress was all the time talking how busy she was instead of just serving customers. When after those 40 minutes of wating I just asked her to bring the beer I have heard that I should be more friendly and 10th time that she was busy. At the end when she finally served those 2 last meals one of them was not the ordered one as she forgot what we had ordered. On top of this she was surprised that we were asking for cutlery as she has not noticed that she forgot to bring them despite so long waiting. Thanks god next day morning during the breakfast there was another waitress and everything was ok. They do not accept credit cards.

The restaurant is a few minutes down the road from the ice cave. Because of the touristy location it's a bit pricier from the usual in the area, but still the food is pretty good, the meals were big and satisfying.

Con un servizio rapido e cortese vengono offerti piatti ottimi e davvero abbondanti (considerate che le porzioni sono generose e il contorno di insalata viene fornito in un grande piatto a parte...) ad un prezzo assolutamente onesto. Dai tavoli sulla terrazza si gode di una vista mozzafiato sul castello di Werfen e le montagne che lo circondano. Rapido da raggiungere con pochi tornanti dall'autostrada come dalla statale. Davvero consigliato.

I was hungry and even if I saw rewiev on TripAdvisor, I decided to come. I have mixed feelings about the whole thing together. Service was pleasant, but the food was nothing special. Above all, it is a big minus a very small choice on the menu.

Wir waren um ca. 14:30 essen. Sehr freundliches Personal. Essen bodenständig und sehr gut. Kleine Karte, aber reichlich. Tolle Aussicht. Empfehlenswert.
