The Surf Club Cafe - West Beach

Food is great, view is better, the surf club is great for lunch, it is very much pub food nothing fancy.

Needed to kill a few hour after arriving in Adelaide from Sydney so we tried the drive out to the beach and lunch at the surf club. Great little local establishment with lots of beer choices and a good seafood loaded menu. Service was prompt and courteous and the food outstanding. It was a very nice lunch for our first visit to Adelaide,

I'm sitting at a table, roughly 15 metres from the wave break, about 5 metres above the beach. I'm eating seafood cooked well, drinking excellent wine by the glass that isn't overpriced. Relaxing with family and loving everything. Okay, service is friendly not silver service. It's a surf club not a fine dining restaurant. But the location is hard to equal and very hard to beat.This is a place to go and linger and just enjoy.

Venue is operated by a local surf club and was keen to support by attending for breakfast. Arrived at the advertised opening time to find the place closed. Several minutes later some staff arrive and apologised for the delay. Given access to the balcony area and order placed for bacon and egg sandwich and coffee. Seemed to take a long time to deliver and while the quality and quantity were fine it seemed to have been slapped together in a hurry. Other patrons began to arrive and it seem staff were rushed - possible due to late start. At one time a person (obviously a regular) entered the dining room with a dog that starting sniffing around patrons. All in all not a great experience and will not be in a hurry to go back, particularly with other alternatives in the area.
