I think it was the owner that was helping me out that night, so the interaction was seamless. The store didn't have the piggy mochis that I saw on Yelp and came for, so she gave me her business card and told me to call for a custom order if I ever felt like coming back.I took her offer and placed a pick up order on 12/15/23. I ordered custom Christmas themed mochis as they were going to be a Christmas gift for someone else. She took my full name and phone number and confirmed my order. I accommodated to her preference for the pick up time, even adjusting my schedule for it because she said she needs more time working on them. When I got to the store at the time she wanted, the worker that was there had no idea what I was talking about. She called the manager/owner and asked me a couple questions but in the end she simply kept stating that I can pick up other mochis from the shelf. I also did not appreciate that she was having full on conversations with other customers in Mandarin as she was helping me out, because I had no update on whatever happened to my order. After prompting for a reason multiple times, the worker later told me that the manager/owner forgot to make my order and the mochis will be ready in 4-5 hours (like who has the time for that lol) or were offering me mochis off the shelf for a discounted price. I reluctantly took her offer for the discounted mochis off the shelf, because I needed something to give to my friend before the Christmas get together. I noticed later on the receipt that while the worker did give me a discount on the 3 boxes of mochis I bought, she upcharged me on the mochis. (originally the mochis were $18 for one of the boxes, but she charged me $20 and then gave a discount on it).I was excited at first to find a cute mochi place, but now I'm just disappointed in their service and dishonesty.
Total. Not. Worth. It. I have to say, the price of the mochi was eye watering.... But since we made the drive, I figured we'll try it. Got the peach mochi for $18.... That's painful. The look of the mochi is very nice, very pretty. The mochi skin is very thin, you can't even tell that it's mochi with such little texture. It's not peach fruit inside. It was filled with peach flavored boba that pops/ bursts. It's not bad but I would expect actual fruit given the price. The cream is not bad, very fresh and tasty. It's hard to eat because the mochi skin is so thin, it doesn't hold shape. It is definitely not worth it, especially if you're expecting chewy mochi...
Lucky Sakura offers charming mochi that's not only adorable but exceptionally soft. Situated in a plaza with ample parking, it's a convenient stop. Whether for gifting or a delightful personal treat, these mochis are a perfect choice.
Wanted to try this place out for a while. It's a tiny place to purchase mochi. Service is mediocre. The mochi is good, but it's so expensive. I don't need to return.
THE SOFEST MOCHI found. The place is so cute I came around 7ish on a whim and I'm so glad I did. I got durian mango filled Mochi. They were $18 for a box of 3 so $36 total. I think it's a desert u treat urself but also great as gifts! They're creamed filled And not as sweet, just slightly . Some are decorated hand crafted into cute characters, fruits, or just plain round mochis but they're just too cute to eat . Definitely will be back .BUT they melt fast so keep that in mind
