Taste Of New York - West Des Moines

A good place for fans of New York-style pizza (thin crust and foldable) to find slices of their favorite varieties. Several pizzas with various toppings are available for order for carryout or dining in, and pizza by the slice is also there for a quick bite. There is seating for several groups. I was surprised that more options weren't available by the slice; we visited about 7:30 on a summer Friday night, there were several patrons present, but there may only have been five kinds of slices available, which is many fewer than when we visited the Waukee location a month ago, and a couple of the options looked like they'd been sitting there for a while.

The pizza was great! Had a Sicilian pizza slice and it was delicious. The only thing I wouldn't get again was the rice balls. For my taste, they were way too big and was mostly breading. Overall a great place to go!

Wife is from New York. Just moved to Des Moines and she was sad about pizza until we found this place. Really good New York style pizza!

Taste of New York continues to be the reigning champion of Pizza joints in the Des Moines area. Their pizza, hero 's, rolls, ravioli....are beyond expectations. The Pizza is extremely diverse. From basic cheese and margarita, to a vodka sauce and chicken parmesan, all their pizzas leave you wondering, Why have I been eating Dominos?!?! The hero sandwiches are RIDICULOUSLY addicting. I was full after half of one. Why did I finish the other half?! They 're SSOOO freaking good. The rolls are great for a party of 2-3 people. Filling and full of flavor. The greatest thing I can say about taste of New York is that none of their food leaves me feeling bogged down with oil or concentrated fats. I feel fulfilled but never EVER weighed down with this, oil saturated pizza you get from other joints. Please. Go here. Support this business.

I love that you can go in and get a slice of pizza that is not just the usual pepperoni or sausage. They have a variety of unique toppings and flavors. The pizza is ready quickly and is affordable.
